For attributes upgrades, he gets 87 speed, 87 speed with ball, 88 steal, 86 perimeter defense, 85 help defense, 88 lateral quickness and 85 pass perception.

For attributes upgrades, he gets 87 speed, 87 speed with MT 2K23 ball, 88 steal, 86 perimeter defense, 85 help defense, 88 lateral quickness and 85 pass perception. You get gold Pick Pocket, Pick Dodger, Lightning Reflexes, Off-Ball Pest, Tireless Defender and Trapper with the evolution as well. In essence, it turns Armstrong into a more well-rounded defender who can defend the point of attack and be a threat from downtown.

All in all, 2K has started the power creep with this batch of cards. Almost every single one of them is at least worth checking out, and Kobe, Melo and Rose all have demonstrable strengths.

Dynamic Duos have returned to NBA 2K23 MyTeam. I'm going to look a little more closely at these Dynamic Duos for a story running tomorrow, but for now let's get to a bunch of new content dropped in NBA 2K23 MyTeam today.

Starting with the duos, you can see now when they're activated by a pulsing set of blue arrows on either side of the position aspect of the card. You can also tell because Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell are both emeralds unless they're in a duo. But as you can see above, both are activated and have turned to ruby players. The same thing happens with Jimmy Butler and Moments of the Week 4 Bam Adebayo when they're teamed up.

Zach LaVine has parlayed his 49-point performance into a Moments of the Week collection reward that appears to be one of the best cards in the game.

I want to look first at this LaVine collection reward because obviously locking in any Moments of the Week collection comes with considerable cost. Is it worth it? Well, I haven't played with the card, but the badges and attributes certainly make it seem like it is worth it.

He gets 95 3-point shot, 90 speed, 87 speed with the ball, 96 driving layup, 97 driving dunk, 98 offensive consistency, 86 ball handling, 85 perimeter defense, 85 lateral quickness and 84 steal. With his badges, he gets HOF Contact Finisher, Fastbreak Finisher, Relentless Finisher, Showtime, Clutch Shooter, Green Machine, Tireless Shooter and Volume Shooter. He also gets gold Quick Draw, Range Extender, Clamps, Pick Dodger and Pogo Stick.

Yes, 2K gave Zach LaVine a Clamps badge, wild stuff. As absurd as that may be, having that badge, and some other decent defensive badges and attributes, is why this card gets my attention and has me thinking it's one of the best cards in the game. He's still a little small at 6-foot-5 and I think you'll get plenty of people who still prefer the Paul Georges of the world, but this card is an offensive juggernaut who will not be a complete mess with his perimeter defense. It also makes his Moments of the Week 4 amethyst immediately obsolete — this is the life of MyTeam though.

Another thing you need with any of these collections is a desire to get the other cards and NBA 2K MT Coins lock them in with the belief that they will remain valuable on your team for an extended period. I think Moments of the Week 5 has that trait as well.
