The primary developers behind Diablo 2 Resurrected have stressed that they don't want players "feel as though they're paying to win" as the game comes out next year.

In a recent Diablo 2 Resurrected livestream(opens in new tab), game director Joe Shely, along with vice-game director Joesph Pipiora, as well as community manager Adam Fletcher gave fans an update on all things Diablo 2 Resurrected, as well as giving an insight into how things will work ahead of the game's release next summer.

During the livestream, the trio discussed their thoughts on the Diablo 2 Resurrected battle pass (around the 39:15 mark in the video below) and also the forthcoming seasons in the game. "It's really, really important to us that we balance the elements you'd see on the battlefield pass," Piepiora told the crowd, "the way that they're powerful, yet fair and fair. We don't wish to have any situations where players can feel that they're being forced to pay. "To draw a clear line in between battle passes and Diablo 2 Resurrected's seasons Piepiora clarified that "the season's story is the same within Diablo 2 Resurrected, in the manner you played it within Diablo 3." The chapter-based mechanic will provide players many objectives as they progress through the season and let them to earn in-game rewards to their character. "All of the content for the season is completely free. It's not attached to the battle pass," Shely adds.

In an effort to make it clear what's going on, Shely clarified that, in the event that Diablo 2 Resurrected launches on June 6 2023, 2023, it will not be launched immediately following season one. "Season one will be released several weeks after the release of the game. And the season will begin when season one begins it will all start at the same time, everybody will be on an even competition," the developer said. The competitive elements of Diablo 2 Resurrected (e.g. : leader boards) are expected to show up in seasons and those who do not pay for early access won't need to worry about unfairness.

"Our major season updates are totally gratis, and they're packed with the latest progression mechanics, fresh monsters , new missions, challenges, and content that you can go and devour," Piepiora explains "there's a lot to look forward to and Diablo 2 Resurrected Items all that is included in costs included in the box of the game you've purchased."
