Contrary to the majority of third-party applications that offer Home Screen widgets, with Widgetsmith it's not enough to launch the app and then drag Widgetsmith to the Home Screen as a widget. It will result in widgets showing a gray screen.

You must configure at the very least one Widgetsmith widget prior to adding it to your website.
How to Start: Open the app, and you'll see three different sizes of widgets. Select one and choose the default widget. Browse through the options menu, and select the widget type you would like to have. You can choose from Date, Time and Custom (Photos or Photos in Album, Textual Custom and Blank) Calendar, Reminders, Calendar and Weather, Health & Tides, Activity and Astronomy.

When you've decided on the widget's type and style then tap"Back" (top-left right-hand corner) to return to the widget's page.
